Here at Kent Automotive we cover all aspects of Cambelts and timing chain replacements on your Audi, VW, Seat or Skoda. We carry out all work with a high level of workmanship along with sticking to manufactures specifications and guidelines when it comes to replacement. We recommend every 5 years or 80,000 miles for a cam belt replacement. The cambelt is made of rubber and over the years this cambelt can perish and crack hence due by time or mileage. If the cambelt did decide to break/snap due to being over due or consequentially affected then this will lead to a hefty rebuild of the engine. We like to see you avoid these expensive repairs so we call them up as an advisory as part of your annual service.

We also advise the water pump to be replaced if the water pump is driven from the cambelt like the picture below. This is good mechanical practise as in the event the water pump fails it also takes the cambelt with it causing consequential damage for a hefty rebuild cost.

We have a huge array of special manufacture tools to lock your engine into its service position just like the main dealer.

We Prefer to fit VAG group Genuine Parts due to there impeccable quality however we have fitted many leading brands of OEM parts which all come with a parts and labour warranty. We use Genuine G13 Evo Anti freeze on both OE and Genuine belt kit Replacements as it is a very high quality coolant.

When it comes to timing chains Some do have an interval of replacement and some are for the life time of the vehicle, depending on the make and model of the Volkswagen group vehicle you have. Generally speaking if you hear any rattle/chain noise from your engine when its first started or when its running this could mean your timing chain is stretched and due for replacement, 99% of the time a engine warning light will appear as when the chain stretches the engine becomes out of time thus the engine sensors pick this up and log it as a fault.
